Turn your PDF into a video plan

Drop in a training deck, a product sheet, a white paper or a meeting report. We read the document and pull out the outline of a short video: a hook, the points that matter, a conclusion.

Your file is only used to build this outline; it isn’t stored.

A 20-page document, a 90-second video

Nobody reads a 20-page PDF on their phone. But everyone will watch 90 seconds that give them the gist. The whole exercise is choosing: a hook that raises the question, three ideas at most, and an ending that says what to do next.

The outline only uses what’s in your document: no facts are added. Treat it as a starting point to review and adjust before you produce the video.

Supported formats

PDF (with selectable text, not a scan), Word (DOCX), plain text (TXT) and Markdown (MD), up to 20 MB. The first 40,000 characters are used.

For a full course, the smart move is a series: one short episode per concept. That’s the idea behind our guide to turning a course into a series of shorts.

Frequently asked questions

Do you keep my file?

No. The document is read to build the outline, and it isn’t stored.

Does it work with a scanned PDF?

No: the PDF needs to contain text (you should be able to select the words). For a scan, run it through a text recognition (OCR) tool first.

What if my document is really long?

Only the first 40,000 characters are read. For a full course, split it by chapter, or check out series on the Team plan on the pricing page.

How do I make it a video?

Click “Send to studio” to start from the outline, or drop the document straight into the studio so it becomes the source of the full script.

Send your result to the studio: Motiongist turns it into a narrated motion design video, with captions and sound.
