Free video script generator
Give it a topic, pick your audience and length, and get a short-form script written for the ear: a hook, one idea per sentence, and an ending that makes people want the next one.
A script written to be heard, not read
A good short-form script looks nothing like a blog post. Sentences are short, each one carries a single idea, and each one can become a visual: a number that pops on screen, a diagram that draws itself, a side-by-side comparison. That is exactly the structure this generator follows.
The first sentence is a hook (a question, a number, a paradox), never “In this video, we’re going to look at…”. Then come the problem, the key idea, a concrete example, the trap to avoid, a quick recap and a one-line call to action.
Picking the right length
A 45–60 second short fits roughly 110–150 words; a 90–120 second video, 220–290 words. Want to check a text you already have? The Words to minutes tool does the math as you type.
Your audience changes everything: for beginners, zero jargon and everyday metaphors; for developers, real tool names and precise examples; for decision-makers, the stakes, the numbers and the risks.
From script to video
Always read the script before you use it: check the facts and add your own angle. Then send it to the studio: Motiongist splits it into scenes, picks the visuals, animates every sentence to the voice and adds captions, music and sound effects.
Frequently asked questions
Is it really free?
Yes, and there’s no sign-up. Requests are capped per hour to prevent abuse.
Can I use the script however I want?
Yes, the generated text is yours. Read it and check the facts before you publish: you’re responsible for what goes out.
Why does my script feel generic?
The more specific the topic, the better the script. Swap “marketing” for “why Tuesday emails get more opens” and you’ll see the difference right away.
How do I turn it into a video?
Click “Send to studio”: the script lands in a new Motiongist project, you pick the voice and the look, then launch the video. See the examples.
From text to video, in one click
Send your result to the studio: Motiongist turns it into a narrated motion design video, with captions and sound.
