1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work (keeping you signed in, for example); others, like analytics, are optional and are only set if you agree.
2. Your choice
On your first visit, a banner lets you accept, reject or customize optional cookies. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and the site works the same either way. Nothing optional is loaded before you choose. You can change your mind at any time: (also in the footer of every page). We ask again after 6 months.
3. The cookies we use
| Name | Category | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
mg_session | Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in. Only set when you log in. | 30 days, renewed while you use the app |
mg_oauth | Strictly necessary | Protects the “Continue with Google” sign-in against forgery. | 10 minutes |
mg_consent | Strictly necessary | Remembers your cookie choice so we don’t ask on every page. | 6 months |
NEXT_LOCALE | Preference | Remembers your language (English or French). | 1 year |
CURRENCY | Preference | Remembers the currency you picked on the pricing page (USD or EUR). | 1 year |
ph_<key>_posthog | Analytics (consent) | PostHog product analytics: pseudonymous visit and usage measurement. Only if PostHog is enabled and you accept analytics. | Up to 1 year [to be confirmed] |
4. Categories
- Strictly necessary: needed to provide the service you ask for (sign-in, security, remembering your choice). They don’t need consent and can’t be switched off.
- Preferences: remember the language and currency you chose. They are set only when you make that choice.
- Analytics: help us understand which pages and features are used, so we can improve them. Pseudonymous, no session recording. Off until you accept.
- Marketing: Motiongist sets no advertising or social media cookies today. The switch exists so that, if we ever add one, it stays off unless you turn it on.
5. Browser settings and Global Privacy Control
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; strictly necessary cookies are needed to sign in. We honor Global Privacy Control signals as described in our privacy policy.
