Patients often forget part of what they hear in a consultation, and staff training competes with full shifts. A short animated video helps both: a patient can rewatch how a treatment works at home, and a new team member can go over a procedure before a shift. The catch has always been production time, and the risk of getting something wrong.

Motiongist handles the production. You provide content you already trust (a leaflet, a protocol, a handout) and the script sticks to it. A fact review runs before rendering, and the free storyboard step lets a clinician check every sentence and every visual first.

How it works

From an approved leaflet to a video patients can rewatch

  1. Step 1

    Start from approved material

Drop the leaflet or protocol as a PDF, DOCX, TXT or Markdown file. Choose the beginner audience for patients, so every term is explained in plain words.

  2. Step 2

    Set the guardrails

Use the notes to list what must be shown and what to avoid: brand names, doses, anything that isn’t in the source.

  3. Step 3

    Clinical review in the storyboard

Share the script with whoever signs off. Edit any line, remove a scene, then confirm the exact price. Nothing renders until you do.

  4. Step 4

    Share it where patients are

Download the MP4 and SRT captions for your website or patient portal, or send an unlisted share link that plays in any browser.

What your blood pressure numbers mean

What you give: “bp-leaflet.pdf (2 pages). For patients. Must show: the two numbers. Avoid: target values that are not in the leaflet.”

What the video shows, scene by scene

  1. 0–5 s

Hook. A blood pressure monitor shows two numbers, one above the other. Title: “What do these two numbers mean?”

  2. 5–18 s

A heart beats, and a pressure wave travels along an artery. The top number lights up: systolic, the pressure when the heart pushes.

  3. 18–30 s

Between beats the heart relaxes and the wave eases off. The bottom number lights up: diastolic, the pressure while it rests.

  4. 30–42 s

The unit appears, mmHg, with a short line on why readings change through the day: activity, stress, even talking during the measurement.

  5. 42–55 s

Closing card taken from the leaflet: “Ask your care team what your target is”, in the clinic’s colors.

Why Motiongist

What health educators get

  • Sticks to your approved source

The script is written from the document you provide, and a fact review runs before rendering. Every line is in the storyboard for you to check.

  • Sign-off before spend

The storyboard step is free. Your reviewer approves the wording and the visuals before a single credit is used.

  • Speak your patients’ language

Narrate the same explainer in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Turkish and Indonesian, with captions and on-screen text to match.

  • Readable without sound

Word-by-word captions are part of the video, with a separate SRT file, for quiet rooms, busy homes and viewers who are hard of hearing.

  • Your organization’s look

Apply your colors and logo from the Solo plan, so patient videos look like the rest of your materials.

  • Writers and reviewers together

The Team plan ($149 a month) includes 5 seats, so the people who write and the people who approve share one workspace.

Educational content, not medical advice

Motiongist is a video production tool. It doesn’t give medical advice, and videos made with it shouldn’t either. Use it to explain what your organization has already decided to tell patients or staff, and have a qualified clinician review every script before it renders and again before it is shared.

AI can make mistakes, including on health topics. Keep videos general, point viewers back to their care team, and leave out doses, diagnoses and individual recommendations. Videos are labelled as AI-generated, and we ask you to say so when you publish.

Keep patient data out of it

Never put patient information in a brief. Work only from general, non-identifying material such as leaflets and training handouts. We make no claim of HIPAA or other healthcare-specific compliance, so treat the workspace like any general-purpose online tool.

What it costs

One credit balance. A short video is 400 credits, a standard one 700, a long one 1,000, plus 1 credit per 10 narrated characters for the final voice.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Can these videos give medical advice?

No. They are for education: explaining a condition, a procedure or a routine in general terms. Individual advice belongs with a clinician, and every script should be reviewed by one before it renders.

Is Motiongist HIPAA compliant?

We make no HIPAA or healthcare compliance claim. Don’t put patient information in a brief; work from general materials only.

How do we make sure the content is accurate?

Start from a document your team has approved: the script sticks to it, and a fact review runs before rendering. Then have a clinician read the full storyboard, which costs nothing, before you confirm.

Can we make the same video in several languages?

Yes. Each video can be narrated in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Turkish and Indonesian. Make one version per language and have each one checked by a fluent reviewer.

Can we use the videos for staff training?

Yes. Short explainers suit refreshers on a procedure or a policy. Download the MP4 for your training platform or share an unlisted link. There is no built-in LMS integration.
