Fliki alternative

A Fliki alternative built for motion design

Fliki started from AI voices and text-to-video. Motiongist starts from the explanation: a storyboard of scenes, each one drawn for what is being said and animated on the narrator’s words.

Fliki is a capable text-to-video tool with a long list of voices, series that publish on a schedule, and, since September 2026, a website-to-explainer feature with 19 styles. If narration is the heart of your videos, it is a sensible choice.

If the visuals have to carry the explanation (a diagram that builds step by step, a number that counts up on the right word), Motiongist is designed around that. The facts about Fliki on this page come from its public pages, checked on October 24, 2026.

Why people look for a Fliki alternative

Each reason is tied to a fact from Fliki’s public pages, checked on October 24, 2026. Anything we could not confirm is marked unverified.

  1. 01

You want motion design, not narrated slides

Fliki is built as text-to-video around AI voices. If you want every scene drawn and animated on the narration, that is Motiongist’s whole focus.

  2. 02

You want to review scenes before paying

Motiongist puts a free, editable storyboard and an exact credit quote in front of you before every render.

  3. 03

    Paid plan prices

Fliki’s paid prices were listed around $28 and $88 a month by third-party sites; we could not confirm them on Fliki’s own page. Motiongist starts at $19.

Where Fliki is strong

  • Website-to-explainer in motion graphics with 19 styles, using the site’s colors, fonts and logo (shipped September 22, 2026).
  • Series planned from topics, or from a blog or feed URL, published to YouTube and TikTok on a cadence.
  • Directed multi-speaker voiceover with expressive tags.
  • A public, dated “What’s new” changelog.

Stay with Fliki if…

…voice comes first for you, you need several speakers in one video, or you want series that keep publishing from a feed.

How it works

Bringing your Fliki workflow over

  1. Step 1

    Start from the same text

Paste a script and it is narrated as written, or give a blog post URL and the script is written from it. Documents work too: PDF, DOCX, TXT or Markdown.

  2. Step 2

Choose a voice and a language

Pick one of 8 voices; each one narrates in 10 languages. Listen to every voice on the voices page before you choose.

  3. Step 3

Check the storyboard, then the price

Read each scene’s line and visual, change what you want, and confirm an exact credit quote. Nothing renders until you do.

  4. Step 4

Publish one video, or a whole series

Schedule single videos to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or LinkedIn. On the Team plan, split a long document into a series of episodes.

What the video shows, scene by scene

  1. 0–5 s

Hook. A product page loads one block at a time while a shopping cart icon taps its foot. Title: “Still loading?”

  2. 5–17 s

The wait. A timeline shows the visitor’s patience draining as images and scripts arrive one after another.

  3. 17–31 s

The causes. Three cards from the article, in your brand colors: oversized images, too many scripts, a server far away.

  4. 31–45 s

The fixes. Each card flips to its fix: compressed images, fewer scripts, a CDN close to the shopper.

  5. 45–55 s

Close. The page snaps in instantly, your logo settles in the corner, and the line “Read the full guide” points to the post.

Why Motiongist

What Motiongist does differently

  • Visuals timed to each word

Diagrams, titles and numbers appear on the word that names them, with captions highlighted word by word.

  • A storyboard you sign off

The optional storyboard step is free. Edit, reorder, add or remove scenes before a single credit is spent.

  • A quote that can’t grow

You confirm the exact credit price before every render. If a render fails, it is retried, then refunded on its own.

  • Your brand from your site

Import your name, logo and colors from your website into a brand kit, used by the brand look from the Solo plan.

  • API and MCP

From the Studio plan, script renders through the REST API with webhooks, or let an AI agent drive Motiongist over MCP.

What it costs

One credit balance. A short video is 400 credits, a standard one 700, a long one 1,000, plus 1 credit per 10 narrated characters for the final voice.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is Motiongist cheaper than Fliki?

We couldn’t confirm Fliki’s paid prices on its own page: third-party sites list about $28 and $88 a month. Motiongist is $19, $49 or $149 a month. Since credits work differently in each tool, compare the cost of one typical video.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. Sign-up gives 500 credits, enough for one short video with the draft voice and a watermark. Fliki’s free plan, when we checked, gave 3 credits with 720p, watermarked exports.

Can Motiongist do multi-speaker narration?

No. Each video has one narrator. If you need several voices talking to each other, Fliki’s directed multi-speaker voiceover is the better fit.

Can a series publish on its own?

Not fully. On the Team plan, a document becomes 2 to 12 episodes that you review, and each video can be scheduled. There is no feed that keeps creating new episodes by itself.

Can I import my Fliki projects?

No. Reuse the scripts or the blog URLs you built them from; the script sticks to the link or document you give.
