Screen recordings make honest demos, but they age fast. A new sidebar, a renamed button or a test account full of odd data, and the video goes back on the to-do list. They also show everything at once, when a prospect only needs to see the one moment where the product saves them time.

Motiongist takes a different route. It draws simplified versions of your screens (a list, a form, a status that changes) and animates them in step with the narration, so the eye always lands on the part being explained. Think of it as the demo you would give on a whiteboard, made into a vertical video.

How it works

From your pitch to a demo prospects finish

  1. Step 1

Pick the one flow that sells

Not the full tour: the moment of value. “An e-mail comes in, gets assigned, gets answered” is a demo; a list of twelve features is not.

  2. Step 2

    Describe the screens

Paste your demo script, or write the flow in a sentence and describe the key screens in the notes: “must show: the inbox list with status pills”. Choose the decision-maker audience for buyers.

  3. Step 3

    Review the storyboard

Check each scene’s line and visual for free. Reorder steps, cut one, or add the objection your sales team hears most.

  4. Step 4

    Send it with a button

Share an unlisted page with a call-to-action button to your trial or booking link, embed the player on your landing page, or pin it on LinkedIn.

Example

A shared inbox tool, demoed in under two minutes

What you give: “Your team’s support e-mails land in five inboxes. Nobody knows who answered what. Our shared inbox puts every e-mail in one list, assigns it to one person, and closes the loop.”

What the video shows, scene by scene

  1. 0–5 s

Hook. Five inbox icons overflow while the same e-mail gets two different replies. Title: “Who answered this?”

  2. 5–25 s

The product. A mock-up of a single inbox list appears in your brand colors, each row with an assignee circle and a status pill.

  3. 25–50 s

Flow one. A new e-mail drops in at the top, a cursor assigns it, and the pill flips from “Open” to “Assigned”.

  4. 50–75 s

Flow two. An internal note appears inside the thread with a lock icon: the team sees it, the customer doesn’t.

  5. 75–95 s

Flow three. The reply goes out, the row turns grey, and the open-tickets counter ticks down by one.

  6. 95–110 s

Next step. Logo, product name and “Start your free trial”, with the address as the closing title.

Why Motiongist

Why teams use it for demos

  • Mock-ups that stay readable

Interfaces are redrawn with big type and few elements, sized for a phone screen and kept inside the platform safe zones.

  • Update it in one revision

Renamed a feature? Edit the line and run a revision at 50% of the base price: only the scenes that changed are rebuilt.

  • Your colors and logo

Use your brand kit from the Solo plan, or describe a custom look in a sentence from the Studio plan.

  • Built for sales follow-ups

A share link with your button on it plays in any browser, and the view counter tells you whether the prospect pressed play.

  • Made by the team, not one editor

The Team plan includes 5 seats, so product marketing, sales and founders can work on demos in one workspace.

What it is, and what it isn’t

This is not a click-through screencast or an interactive demo. The mock-ups are simplified drawings of your interface, built from your description, and they won’t match your product pixel for pixel. That is the point: they show the idea of the flow without the noise.

If a buyer needs to see every setting, a live call or a screen recording is still the right tool. Use the animated demo earlier, to get them interested enough to book it.

Write the demo like a story

Start from the buyer’s problem in their own words, show one flow end to end, and finish with one next step. Three moments of value beat ten features. The storyboard generator is a free way to test the structure of your script before you open the studio.

What it costs

One credit balance. A short video is 400 credits, a standard one 700, a long one 1,000, plus 1 credit per 10 narrated characters for the final voice.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Does it record my screen or import screenshots?

No. It draws your interface as animated mock-ups from your script and notes. The only file you upload is your logo.

Will the mock-ups look exactly like my app?

No, and they aren’t meant to. They are simplified, readable versions of your screens. Describe the elements that matter in the “must show” notes and check them in the storyboard.

Can I use my existing demo script?

Yes. Paste it (up to 4,000 characters) and it is narrated as written, with scenes built around each line. Check the timing with Words to minutes.

Can I make horizontal demos for my website hero?

Not yet. Videos are vertical 9:16; horizontal 16:9 is coming soon. Vertical works well in a sidebar, on mobile and on social feeds.

How much does a demo video cost?

A standard demo (90–120 s) is 700 credits plus the final voice, and the brand look needs the Solo plan ($19 a month). The exact price is shown before every render. See pricing.
