Storyboard · 6 scenes
- 0–8 sHook. Five inboxes fill up with the same customer e-mail, and two teammates answer it twice. Title: “Who’s replying to this one?”
- 8–28 sThe problem. A timeline follows one request as it bounces between teammates while the customer waits.
- 28–50 sThe product. Your logo appears, then one line: every support e-mail lands in one shared inbox.
Early-stage SaaS teams explain the same things over and over: what the product does, who it is for, how to get started, what changed this month. Each of those deserves a short video. Almost none get one, because a single animated explainer used to mean a freelancer, a brief and weeks of back and forth.
Motiongist lets the person who knows the product make the video. Paste your landing-page copy, give a link to your docs, or describe the feature in a sentence. You get a narrated vertical video with titles, flows, numbers and UI mock-ups that move on the words, in your colors.
How it works
From a feature to a video prospects actually watch
- Step 1
Set up your brand once
Import your site’s name, logo and colors into a brand kit, then use the brand look on every video from the Solo plan.
- Step 2
Start from your own words
Paste the pitch from your homepage, link a docs page, or type the feature in one sentence. Pick the decision-maker audience for buyers, beginner for new users.
- Step 3
Review the scenes
In the free storyboard step, check that the problem comes first, the product name is on screen, and no claim goes further than what the product does today.
- Step 4
Put it everywhere
Download the MP4 for your landing page, send the share link in sales follow-ups with a button to your sign-up page, or schedule it to LinkedIn and YouTube.
Example
A product explainer for a shared-inbox tool
What you give: “How a shared inbox tool turns scattered support e-mails into tracked tickets. For founders running small support teams.”
What the video shows, scene by scene
- 0–8 s
Hook. Five inboxes fill up with the same customer e-mail, and two teammates answer it twice. Title: “Who’s replying to this one?”
- 8–28 s
The problem. A timeline follows one request as it bounces between teammates while the customer waits.
- 28–50 s
The product. Your logo appears, then one line: every support e-mail lands in one shared inbox.
- 50–80 s
How it works. Three steps as a simple flow: the e-mail arrives, becomes a ticket, and gets an owner and a status.
- 80–98 s
What changes. A clean inbox mock-up shows each ticket with an assignee badge. No more double replies.
- 98–108 s
Next step. The product name and the site address on screen, in your brand colors.
An illustrative storyboard for this brief (Your brand look, 2D). Motiongist writes its own scenes from your input, and you can edit them for free before rendering.
Why Motiongist
Why it fits a small SaaS team
On-brand without a designer
Your colors and logo on titles, diagrams and captions, imported from your website in one step.
UI mock-ups, not screen recordings
The engine draws simplified interface mock-ups that stay readable on a phone. Nothing to re-record when a button moves.
Product marketing stays in control
Review every line and every scene before rendering. The storyboard step costs nothing.
A budget you can predict
A standard video is 700 credits plus the final voice, and you see the exact quote first. Solo is $19 a month for 3,000 credits.
Share pages that convert
Each video can get an unlisted page with a button to your sign-up or demo URL, and a player you can embed.
Post copy included
Titles, descriptions and hashtags written for each platform, then publish or schedule to LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok or Instagram.
Which videos to make first
Start with the explanation you repeat most on sales calls: what the product does, in under two minutes. Then add a short onboarding video for the first thing a new user should do, and a release video each time a feature ships.
Each of those has a template with a suggested structure and a checklist of what to prepare, so you don’t start from a blank page.
Watch out for
Keep claims to what the product does today. The script follows your copy and your sources: vague superlatives in, vague superlatives out. And if you need a horizontal video for a website hero, output is vertical 9:16 for now; 16:9 is coming soon.

Templates that fit
Each template is a ready-made brief: an example subject, a target length, a look and notes. Open one and change the subject.
What it costs
One credit balance. A short video is 400 credits, a standard one 700, a long one 1,000, plus 1 credit per 10 narrated characters for the final voice.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Can it show our actual product interface?
It draws simplified UI mock-ups from your description, not screenshots or screen recordings, and the only image you can upload is your logo. For a pixel-perfect product tour, a screen recorder is still the right tool.
How much does a product explainer cost?
A standard video (90–120 s) is 700 credits, plus 1 credit per 10 narrated characters for the final voice. You see the exact price before rendering. Plans are $19, $49 and $149 a month. See pricing.
Can we use the videos in ads?
Paid plans export without a watermark, and the final voices come with a commercial license. Videos are labelled as AI-generated, and we ask you to disclose that when you publish.
Can we make versions in other languages?
Yes. Create the video in any of English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Turkish and Indonesian; the narration, captions and on-screen text all follow that language.
Can our own tooling create videos, say for each release?
From the Studio plan, the REST API and webhooks let your scripts start a video, and the MCP server lets an agent in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor do it. Every render needs an approved quote. See the API docs.
