Dutch AI voiceover for explainer videos

Motiongist narrates explainer videos in Dutch: with Dutch as the video language, the script, the voice, the captions and the text in each scene are in Dutch. Pick any of the eight narrators; on paid plans each speaks Dutch with their own voice.

How Dutch narration works in Motiongist

Dutch videos are built from a Dutch script. The narrator reads it, captions highlight each word as it is spoken, and titles and diagram labels are in Dutch too. Scene timing follows the Dutch narration.

Draft previews use free voices from the Netherlands, one male and one female, matched to your narrator’s gender. The final voice on paid plans is your narrator, speaking Dutch with the same timbre as in every other language.

You can’t choose between a Netherlands and a Flemish accent; the model decides. If you publish mainly for Belgium, write in the vocabulary your viewers use and check the narration preview by ear.

Je telefoon praat nooit met satellieten. Hoe weet hij dan waar je bent?
In English: Your phone never talks to satellites. So how does it know where you are?Informal je, two short sentences, and a question that sets up the whole video.

Writing a script in Dutch: 5 tips

  • Je or u

Most Dutch brands address viewers with je/jij, even in B2B. U still fits government, healthcare or older audiences. Decide before writing the first line.

  • Watch compound length

“Klantenservicemedewerker” is one word and a wide title on a vertical screen. In narration it’s fine; on screen, a shorter word often reads better.

  • Capitalize IJ together

At the start of a word, both letters are capitals: IJsland, IJmuiden. It matters in titles and in all-caps captions.

  • Use English loanwords sparingly

Dutch audiences accept a lot of English, but a script full of “performance”, “insights” and “impact” sounds like a slide deck. Keep the plain Dutch word where one exists.

  • Write numbers the Dutch way

Decimal comma, dot or space for thousands: 3,5 or 1.250. Round them for narration.
